From the
black pot always come the white pap. From the depth of the disgusting soil
comes the gold. Some of the greatest men in history were born premature, yet
they went on in life to become something great.
Men like Charles Darwin, the
French philosopher Renan, the great military leader Napoleon, Isaac Newton, and
Voltaire, to mention a few.
Where you
came from, the family you were born into and your present state are not a function
of who or what you will be tomorrow. It is not your fault that you are born
poor, but it can be your fault that you die poor. You have no
excuse for
failure in life, as nobody is even ready to listen to you. Who you are today is
not a function of what you will be tomorrow. Being among the least today
doesn’t affirm that that you will be among them forever. All you need to do is
to believe in yourself, be diligent and consistent, and be faithful in your
prayers.
Check
Charles Darwin: his father called him an “absolute GOOD FOR NOTHING” because he
didn’t take to his father’s choice of profession (Medicine). Today he is known
around the world as a great scientist and the father of the theory of evolution
Check Albert
Einstein: he did not speak until he was four years old and he didn’t read until
he was seven (he was a very slow learner). His teacher described him as
“MENTALLY SLOW, UNSOCIABLE AND FULL OF FOOLISH DREAMS THAT WILL MAKE HIM AMOUNT
TO NOTHING IN LIFE”. He was expelled and refused admittance to Zurich
Polytechnic School. The University of Bern turned down his Ph.D. dissertation
as being irrelevant and fanciful. He went on in life to become a great
physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two
pillars of modern physics.
Check Louis
Pasteur: he was only a mediocre pupil in undergraduate studies. A student of
below average ability. He ranked 15 out of 22 in chemistry, but today he is
well known as a great chemist and microbiologist with remarkable breakthroughs
in the causes and prevention of diseases.
Check out
Thomas Edison: at six years of age, he was sent home from school with a note
saying he was too stupid to learn but his mother believed God gave her a unique
child, who will one day bless the world with his talent. Thomas went on in life
to become a great inventor with over 1099 inventions ascribed to his name; such
as the motion picture, camera, the phonograph and the electric bulb.
Check out
Winston Churchill: his teacher expelled him from his Latin class because he was
too slow in understanding Latin, but Churchill resolved to excel in English
Language where he was doing well. He became an English historian and one of
Britain’s famous Prime ministers
NOTE:
people’s opinion about you is not God’s Conclusion on your destiny.
According to
a recent research of successful people in America, 50% of the CEOs of fortune
500 companies, when they were in college, made Cs or less as an average. Over 50%
of the entrepreneur millionaires in America today graduated from college. 75%
of the presidents of the United States were in the lower half of their class.
What separated
them from others were not due to their family background, or their intelligence
or their skin colour, but they chose to be positive minded, consistent and
diligent. They inculcate into their lives a winning attitude and they possessed
incessant passion for what they do. They
did not give up on themselves when others did.
